March 9th – April 3rd 2006. On holiday in Lima, Peru. While there, played timbal in several descargas, including a street party in the barrio of Surquillo, often referred to by it’s nickname “Chicago Chico”, so-called because of the legendary fondness of some of it’s residents for firearms to resolve day-to-day issues!. Also played some cajón, met up with Rafael Santa Cruz (see his superb website
www.cajonperuano.org if you’re at all interested in the cajón). I also did three interviews, two for radio, and one for the leading newspater, El Comercio, to promote the new
GRUPO X album (see above).
